Which meters can Rhino read over RS485 IEC1107?
Rhino reads RS485 IEC1107 through a Rhino ED RS485, and each meter below carries its own install detail.
Some utility-grade meters expose the IEC 62056-21 data set over an RS485 bus rather than an optical head. The data is the same, the transport is more convenient.
Rhino reads it with an ED RS485. Where a meter offers both this and an optical head, the bus is the better choice: no head to align, and several meters can share the run.
It is most common on main and tenant-boundary meters from the utility-grade ranges.
