Rhino × Socomec
Metering Partner

Your Digiware estate. In Rhino.

Socomec DIRIS Digiware meters are already tracking electricity in your buildings. Rhino connects to them directly via Modbus TCP, normalizes the data, and surfaces it across your full portfolio in one dashboard. No hardware replacement. No manual exports.

How they fit together

Digiware measures. Rhino makes it portfolio-ready.

Socomec DIRIS Digiware is one of the most widely deployed electrical submetering systems in European commercial real estate. It is precise, modular, and built for multi-circuit measurement. The data it generates stays inside the Digiware gateway. Rhino connects to that gateway, pulls the data automatically, and adds it to your full portfolio view alongside every other building you manage.

The Hardware Layer
DIRIS Digiware
  • Class 0.5 metering accuracy (IEC 62053-22)
  • Modular: up to 32 measurement points per system
  • RJ45 Digiware bus, RJ12 sensors, fast install
  • IO modules collect pulses from gas, water, and heat
  • Modbus TCP, BACnet IP, SNMP gateway built in
The Platform Layer
Rhino Cloud
  • Multi-site, multi-tenant aggregation in one view
  • All utilities normalized: electricity, gas, water, heat
  • Tenant billing, alarms, ESG exports out of the box
  • Open API to Deepki, Yardi, Chainels, and more
  • EPBD, CSRD, GRESB-ready data structure

Case study

Westfield. 640 meters.
All utilities.

Westfield deployed Rhino across 4 large European shopping centres using Socomec DIRIS Digiware as the metering backbone. Energy, water, heating, and cooling all flow into a single Rhino platform: 60,000 data points a day, split between tenant spaces and common areas, streamed via API to Westfield's central data systems.

Rhino connected natively to the existing Socomec gateway infrastructure. No rip-and-replace. No additional hardware. The Digiware estate already in the buildings became the live data source from day one.

What you gain

One integration. Full portfolio intelligence.

Portfolio-wide electricity data

All buildings with Digiware appear in one Rhino dashboard. Compare consumption across sites, spot outliers, and track trends without logging into each gateway separately or stitching spreadsheet exports together.

ESG reporting without manual steps

Rhino pulls and normalizes Digiware data continuously. Your CSRD and EU Taxonomy reports draw from a single clean data layer. No scheduled exports, no manual data entry, no risk of gaps in the audit trail.

Mixed-portfolio ready

Digiware in some buildings, other meter brands in others, Rhino handles both. Each building connects via the right path for its hardware. All data lands in the same portfolio dashboard, normalized to the same format.

Alarms on what matters

Set consumption thresholds on any meter connected via Digiware. Rhino sends an alert when a reading exceeds your defined limit, so equipment faults and anomalies reach your team before they show up on an invoice.

Tenant billing data, automated

Where your Digiware setup includes per-tenant circuit measurement, Rhino surfaces those readings for accurate cost allocation. Billing data flows automatically, without manual reads or estimation.

No CAPEX on hardware

Your Digiware investment stays in place. Rhino reads from what is already installed. In most cases no on-site work is required at all. The connection is software-only, configured remotely by the Rhino onboarding team.

Common questions

Socomec x Rhino, answered.

Rhino connects to your Socomec DIRIS Digiware M gateway via Modbus TCP and pulls electricity consumption data automatically at regular intervals. That data is normalized and added to your Rhino portfolio alongside readings from all other connected buildings and meter types. You get one dashboard showing your full estate, updated continuously, without manually exporting from Digiware or consolidating spreadsheets.
No. Rhino reads from your existing Digiware M gateway over your building LAN using Modbus TCP. The hardware stays exactly as it is. In most cases no on-site work is required at all. A Rhino team member will confirm the exact connection method based on your gateway model and network setup during the onboarding call.
Rhino connects to Socomec DIRIS Digiware systems via Modbus TCP, which is natively supported by the Digiware M-50 and M-70 gateways. Other DIRIS models with Ethernet and Modbus TCP output are also compatible. For older RS485-only setups, Rhino can connect via its own hardware bridge. Confirm your specific gateway model and firmware version with the Rhino team at onboarding, the team will assess compatibility based on your actual installation.
Yes. Rhino is built for mixed portfolios. It connects to Socomec Digiware in the buildings that have it, and uses other connection paths for the rest, whether that is smartmeter network APIs, its own hardware, or connections to other BMS or metering systems already installed. All data lands in a single portfolio dashboard, normalized to the same format so you can compare across sites without adjusting for different data sources.
For buildings where the Digiware M gateway has an active Ethernet connection and network access is available to Rhino, connection typically takes hours to a few days. The Rhino onboarding team handles the configuration remotely. Most clients with existing Digiware infrastructure are live in the Rhino platform within one to two weeks of starting the process.

Your Digiware data. Unlocked.

Your buildings are already measuring. Rhino connects to your Socomec Digiware estate and turns those local readings into a portfolio-wide picture, automated, continuous, and ready for ESG reporting.
