Amsterdam, Netherlands & Alpharetta, Georgia, USA – September 26, 2025 – Envigilance, the innovative provider of smart building monitoring solutions, and Rhino, the global leader in remote energy and utility monitoring, today announced a commercial partnership to bring Rhino’s cutting-edge technology into Envigilance’s portfolio of solutions. Under this partnership, Envigilance will adopt Rhino’s hardware and platform to enhance utility data collection offerings for industrial and commercial facilities across the United States.

This collaboration empowers Envigilance to help owners of existing industrial buildings upgrade their operations with real-time smart data without the need for costly retrofits. By deploying Rhino’s lean and flexible IoT monitoring solutions, Envigilance can provide a CAPEX-light pathway to operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and cost reduction.

Supporting U.S. Compliance Standards

The partnership comes at a pivotal time as U.S. jurisdictions tighten requirements for building energy performance and carbon reporting. With Building Performance Standards (BPS) now in effect in cities like New York (Local Law 97), Boston (BERDO 2.0), Washington, D.C. (BEPS), Denver (Energize Denver), and across states such as Colorado, Oregon, and Maryland, building owners face mandatory benchmarking, reporting, and emissions reduction targets.

Rhino’s platform directly supports compliance with these requirements by:

  • Automated Data Reporting: Seamless integration with EPA’s ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, the primary platform for U.S. energy benchmarking and emissions reporting.

  • Audit-Ready Verification: Generating complete, standardized reports that meet verification requirements in cities like Boston and St. Louis.

  • Multi-Utility Coverage: Capturing electricity, water, and gas consumption data across entire portfolios, ensuring accurate Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions tracking.

  • Penalty Avoidance: Providing real-time alerts and predictive analytics to prevent costly fines, which can reach up to $10 per sq. ft. in some jurisdictions, for non-compliance.

With these capabilities, Envigilance and Rhino offer industrial building owners not only the ability to cut costs and reduce waste but also to stay ahead of regulations.

Nathan Branch , CEO of Envigilance, commented:
"Partnering with Rhino enhances our Monitoring as a Service (MaaS) model's ability to deliver guaranteed results. Among the millions of commercial facilities without building management systems, many face rising energy costs and complex regulations like Local Law 97, but can't justify capital investment in traditional solutions. By integrating Rhino's technology into our service, we guarantee 10% energy reduction with zero upfront investment and automated compliance reporting. This partnership lets us offer enterprise-grade energy intelligence through a simple monthly subscription, removing the financial risk and complexity that prevents facilities from modernizing."

Xander van Baarsen, GM at Rhino, added:
“We are excited to partner with Envigilance to expand Rhino’s reach in the U.S. market. Envigilance’s expertise in helping industrial operators modernize makes it the ideal partner. By combining our real-time utility data platform with Envigilance’s service-oriented solutions, we’re providing building owners a clear path to innovation and compliance. They can achieve efficiency gains while ensuring readiness for requirements under BPS, ENERGY STAR, and other local mandates. Together, we’re lowering the barriers to sustainability, compliance, and smart operations for U.S. industrial real estate.”
