The answer that matters

What it takes.

Rhino has the Hager SM103E configured already, so the connection is proven rather than probable.
It is read over RS485 Modbus, an interface Rhino connects to directly.
What the install looks like depends on the building and on which version of the meter is installed, so Rhino sizes it with you rather than reading it off a model number. That is one short conversation.

What connecting it involves.

The Hager SM103E measures through current transformers rather than carrying the load itself. That makes the meter side of the job small and the electrical side of it the part to plan around: the CTs sit on the cable, and getting to them usually means arranging a window when that circuit can be taken down.

Where the transformers are already installed, which is common on anything metered at a distribution board, the work is limited to wiring the Rhino expansion device to the meter output and pairing it with the access point.

Mounting on file: Panel. That matters mostly for where the expansion device ends up sitting and whether there is DIN space left in the cabinet for it.

None of this covers site feasibility. RF range, cabinet access and power availability are survey questions, and a compatibility yes is not an installation yes.

Any meter that speaks Modbus or M-Bus connects to the Rhino AP, whether or not we have set that model up before. What we have already configured is a record of past work, not a boundary. Tell us what you have at sales@rhino.energy and we will name the device you need.
