Which meters can Rhino read over Wireless M-Bus OMS?
Any of them. Wireless M-Bus OMS is an open protocol and the Rhino access point speaks it natively, so a meter using it can be read whether or not we have set that model up before. What you need on site is a Rhino WMBus RS232.
Wireless M-Bus in the OMS profile is the 868 MHz radio version of M-Bus, and it is what most modern heat, water and gas submeters ship with. The meter broadcasts its reading on a schedule rather than waiting to be asked.
Rhino receives those broadcasts with a WMBus RS232 device. Nothing is wired to the meter, which makes this the least invasive route into a building and the usual answer in apartment blocks and multi-tenant floors.
Range is the design constraint. Expect around 300 m line of sight and considerably less through floors and cores, so a Rhino WMBus Repeater is normal on anything taller or deeper than a single plate.
Any meter that speaks Modbus or M-Bus connects to the Rhino AP, whether or not we have set that model up before. What we have already configured is a record of past work, not a boundary. Tell us what you have at sales@rhino.energy and we will name the device you need.
Every Wireless M-Bus OMS meter connects.
Below are the ones Rhino has already set up, reviewed 2026-08-25. Anything else on Wireless M-Bus OMS connects the same way and has simply not been configured yet.

Know the protocol. Now do the building.
Send us the meter list for a site and we will come back with the device per meter, the transformers and adapters it needs, and the parts of the job that need an electrician on site.
