Is the Kamstrup Multical 402 compatible with remote monitoring?
Yes. Rhino already reads the Kamstrup Multical 402 over M-Bus wired and Wireless M-Bus OMS.
Coverage reviewed 2026-08-25, and it grows continuously.
What it takes.
What connecting it involves.
The Kamstrup Multical 402 is read over M-Bus wired and Wireless M-Bus OMS. The expansion device connects to that output and reports to the access point, with no change to how the meter itself operates.
None of this covers site feasibility. RF range, cabinet access and power availability are survey questions, and a compatibility yes is not an installation yes.
Any meter that speaks Modbus or M-Bus connects to the Rhino AP, whether or not we have set that model up before. What we have already configured is a record of past work, not a boundary. Tell us what you have at sales@rhino.energy and we will name the device you need.
Other Kamstrup meters we read.

One meter checked. Now do the building.
Send us the meter list for the site and we will come back with the device per meter, the transformers and adapters it needs, and the parts of the job that need an electrician on site. Before anyone talks about price.
