Rhino for GLP

Objective

The aim of the implementation was to remotely monitor utility consumption in order to facilitate tenant billing. It was also crucial to provide tenants with a tool that would enable them to use utilities more efficiently and guarantee access to automatic reading of hard-to-reach meters. It is worth noting that improved energy efficiency in their buildings is one of GLP’s key goals worldwide.

Solution

As part of a comprehensive implementation, we set up remote monitoring in three warehouse halls, adjusting it to the existing infrastructure. In one of the buildings – a hall that was several years old – the meters were adjusted or replaced, or fitted with a module enabling remote reading. In another, this time a new building but without a BMS, meters were installed and connected to the Rhino remote utility consumption reading system. In yet another building, a new one equipped with a BMS, it was integrated with some of the meters and checked for correct operation, which serves as a basis for warranty repairs of this system.
The next step was to integrate the devices and the data they send to the Rhino Platform application. In addition, responding to the client’s needs in each location, we negotiated with utility suppliers conditions for connecting the system to the main (billing) meters and were responsible for connecting them. This has given GLP access to data from the billing meters within one system, allowing the company to balance consumption with sub-meter readings, thus finding faults. This gives GLP the basic data needed to optimise their purchase of electricity or gas.
Thanks to this, GLP is able to purchase the optimal amount of ‘green’ energy from its supplier. The implementation of the solution promotes lower utility consumption, decreasing of the carbon footprint, greater biodiversity and better employee health.

Result

In new GLP buildings, smart metering is becoming a standard solution. The system that monitors the consumption of electricity, water and gas sends data read by meters to a single app. Tenants and centre managers can therefore track utility consumption trends in real time. Is heating control working properly? Are the appliances consuming proper amounts of energy? Is there a water leak?
As a result, the implementation of the Rhino system means raising the standard of GLP’s leased spaces and offering tenants innovative tools for efficient utility management and activities.

  • Ability to track consumption by tenants and managers

  • Access to all analytical tools in one place

  • Opportunities for taking sustainability action

  • Fitting the system
    into the existing infrastructure
without interfering with the building infrastructure

What our client said?
